Why an orthopedic urgent care beats the ER for most injuries
Emergency rooms are for emergencies — and priced accordingly. For the injuries that fill most ER waiting rooms (suspected fractures, sprains, sports injuries, work injuries), an orthopedic urgent care is faster, dramatically cheaper, and puts you in front of people who treat bones all day. X-ray happens on site, treatment starts immediately, and if your injury needs surgery, you're already in Dr. Morton's system — no repeating your story from zero.
What we handle on a walk-in basis
Bring in the acute stuff:
- Suspected fractures — X-ray, diagnosis, casting or splinting on the spot
- Sprains, strains, and sports injuries
- Work injuries, with documentation handled
- Painful, swollen, or suddenly-worse joints
- Injections for acute flares
- Post-injury follow-up and cast checks
When to go to the ER instead
Head straight to an emergency room for open fractures (bone through skin), deformity with numbness or color change in the limb, uncontrolled bleeding, or any head, neck, or spine involvement. For everything else orthopedic on the Leeward side, wiki wiki is the faster path — and it connects directly to Dr. Morton's trauma and injury care and the full Pacific Bone & Joint clinic in the same shopping center.
